Details

The ProgID property of an ActiveX component id the Windows ProgID of the ActiveX control or the ActiveX-enabled application.
 
The ProgID (programmatic ID) parameter is the human readable name of an ActiveX component. The ProgID is an alias of the class ID of an ActiveX component. The class ID is a globally unique identifier (GUI), a 128 bit value guaranteed to be unique, represented as a 16-digit hex number.
