4.3.17 Master's User Name

Specify the User ID you wish to use to logon to the server hosting the Master LANSA Repository. The name will default to the last value you entered on the login dialog.

For an IBM i server, there are some significant things to note about this User ID:

• It should be enrolled as a valid user of the system distribution directory (ADDDIRE). Refer to the built-in function DEFINE_OS_400_SERVER in the LANSA Technical Reference Guide for more details.
• It should be no more than 8 characters in length.
• The job description associated with it should have the LANSA for i program library (e.g. DCXPGMLIB) in its initial library list. This means that when you sign on to an IBM i, the LANSA program library (e.g. DCXPGMLIB) should be immediately available in the job's library list.
