3.3 TCP/IP and LANSA Listeners

When you use TCP/IP for LANSA Open communications to the IBM i, you will require a LANSA Listener.

A Listener is simply a communications manager. The IBM i Listener is a subsystem and group of jobs which are defined to accept requests from LANSA Open. The subsystem is used to manage the LANSA Listener jobs for communication to the workstation products.

To install a LANSA Listener, go to the Communications Setup Guide: IBM i Configuration.
