Widget (PRIM_WDGT)

Widgets are user defined JavaScript features typically implementing a 3rd party control e.g. Google Maps

Ancestors - Object (PRIM_OBJT)

Details

A Widget is used to create a wrapper around 3rd party controls and features. This is similar in concept to the definition of an ActiveX control.

Properties, events and methods can be added to the Widget to describe the functionality within the 3rd party script, allowing for the Widget to addressed in RDMLX as though it were a LANSA defined feature.

Each of the LANSA features will be asssociated with a JavaScript function that will implement the functionality as required.

To keep the association between the LANSA definition and underlying JavsScript simple, the names are required to match. Thus, a Method defined as AddMarker will have a corresponding function name of AddMarker and a property defined as MapType will have getMapType and setMapType routines.
