1.6 Web Deployment Models

A deployment model will consist of a combination of at least two - or all of the following components:

You will need to install LANSA on one or more platforms to create the desired configuration.

You will typically use separate machines for your Web Server and your Data/Application Server:

Mixed Multi-Tier deployment model

You will typically use a Windows Data/Application Server and a Windows, IBM i or Linux Web Server.

Mixed Multi-Tier Development and Deployment Model

You will typically develop your application on a Windows platform as shown in the following example but you will import the Web application from the Windows machine into the Data/Application Server.

Single tier model

A single-tier deployment model consists of a single Windows, IBM i or Linux acting as both the Web Server and Data/Application Server.
