You may need to consider that you end-users live in a world where they can locate obscure information with a few key strokes:
Providing search filters that require the input of exact details and/or have very limited search capabilities may not match end-users' expectations.
If you are using RAMP to modernize a 5250 application you should consider adding some search filter based modernization value to it. E.g. You may have a 5250 screen that displays the detail of an order provided that you have the exact order number. By adding a 'power' filter and an instance list to it you can add a lot of business value to it because user can now look up orders in a whole new number of ways and make lists of the orders they need to work with.
