1. Introduction to Applications, Fields, Databases and the Repository

LANSA developers may be involved in building many different types of applications. The purpose of the 1.1 Developer Roadmap is to provide a perspective for LANSA development based on the focus of your project.

Each of the products in the LANSA family shares a common architecture based on an active Repository and a high level application definition using a fourth generation language (4GL). The LANSA Active Object Repository and 4GL, called 1.4 LANSA RDML (Rapid Development and Maintenance Language), work together to provide a complete development and execution solution.
