When you think of storing data you probably immediately think of uploading to the server but it is possible to use client-side storage.
There are several reasons why this may be useful:
Visual LANSA has limited support for Web Browser Databases.
When executing in the browser, access to local data is only available via 3rd party scripting (11.6 Session and Local Storage). This restriction is a reflection of the lack of support in a few mainstream browsers but if this changes in the future LANSA will re-evaluate the feature.
The local database of a mobile device can be accessed using LANSA's LongRange interface.
Note - Data stored on the client is more vulnerable and cannot be accessed from multiple clients. You should only store non-critical data on a client, such as a list of recent searches or static table data.
