To use LANSA Client, you will need the current LANSA for i version installed on each of the IBM i host systems that you wish to access with LANSA Client.
If you are not already using LANSA Client, you will need to prepare the host for access by LANSA Client users. You will find instructions for doing this in Task: LANSA Client Setup on IBM i in the LANSA for i Administrator's Guide.
LANSA Client cannot successfully connect with an IBM i host until LANSA is installed on the IBM i and the appropriate LANSA licenses have been recorded.
A demonstration partition, complete with files for use with the LANSA Client Tutorial, is provided with the LANSA for i software. Instructions for installing and setting up this partition are provided with the LANSA Client Tutorial.
