4.3.4 Target Platform

Target Platform is required when creating a Reusable Part or Theme and determines the files generated at compile time.

Unlike a Form which automatically generates C and a DLL, or a Web Page which results in HTML and JavaScript objects, Reusable Parts and Themes can be defined to work across platform and so need to have appropriate source code generated when they are compiled (i.e. reusable part) or referenced in a compilable object (i.e. theme).

Target Platform also serves as a clue for the IDE. The Controls view shows a different list of available controls, and the source editor will show different errors as certain language constructs are only appropriate for specific platforms.

Target platform can be changed in the Repository Details tab.
